BET Awards 2018 has happened revealing all the lucky-deserving winners in LA on Sunday, June 24th. The awards night that praises accomplishments in music, TV, sports, and motion pictures was hosted by Jamie Foxx and is filled with all the delightful memories. Rapper Kendrick Lamar grabbed the most prizes, one for best male hip-hop artists and one for his album “DAMN”, being the best album of the year.
SZA won best new artist award while Beyoncé won the honor for best female R&B/pop artist and Cardi B went home with the best female hip-hop artist award.
Jamie Foxx brought Michael B. Jordan to the stage and requesting that he present the ground-breaking line from the film, Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, cause they knew death was better than bondage”.
Afterward, Jamie Foxx welcomed Childish Gambino to go along with him in front of an audience to express gratitude toward him for his socially cognizant tune, “This Is America.”
An impactful moment of the show came when Tyler Perry gave Anita Baker the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Jamie Foxx sang a variety of her most noteworthy hits.
We also got to see the rapper, Meek Mill, debuting his another new single titled, “Stay Woke,” which investigates imbalance in the equity framework.
The current year’s show facilitated amazing performances by the very talented Nicki Minaj, Migos, YG, Daniel Caesar, Jay Rock, YG, Miguel, Big Sean, and Meek Mill.
